Engagements, weddings, new babies, the growing family. These are the events that most people think about when they want to hire a photographer. And rightly so! All of them super important and so special.

But you know what else is special too? You and your spouse. Celebrating the years that come after the day you make your vows to each other. My husband and I recently had our portraits done for our own wedding anniversary. It was so fun! We laughed a lot, but we also had many moments of just being close and quiet. My only regret is that we didn't start doing them sooner. How great would it be to look back at "just us" through the years? Pretty awesome. I know too that they would have been a treasure to our kids, and that reason alone is enough to make the effort. But now is now, and I'm grateful for the ones we have. Definitely going to make time again in the future for another session. Maybe for the big 35?

An anniversary session to celebrate you as a couple: your life, your love, your story, is just as important and worthy as any of the reasons above. You're the reason your whole family story got started in the first place, right? Anniversary photos can be a special way to stop and acknowledge the years you've had together and the love that's grown deeper and stronger. A gift to yourself and to those who love you most, because they will be loved and passed down always. Just wanted you to think about it.
